Forgive me Hilda!

Finally I have culled one of our hens for food. After chatting and thinking about this notion for years now at long last I have managed it. Not sure what I think at the minute, but I do know that it was very tasty and it was fantastic to eat meat raised a few feet from the house! 

I think using a whole bottle of red wine may have had something to do with the great taste, but it was an old bird so prob needed. Very impressed though, was more like red meat than Chicken. As the remaining two birds are quite old and have had a tough life, will be looking at culling those as well....but its really not a nice way to spend your morning.
